Two pharmaceutical companies Cipla and Hetero have got permission from the Controller General of Indian Drugs (DCGI) for its manufacturing and marketing. DCGI has approved this drug for the treatment of suspected or confirmed cases of Covid-19 in adults and children or those hospitalized due to its infection.
The US Department of Health and Human Services has said in a statement that it has secured 5 lakh treatment courses of Remdesivir in American hospitals. This, in addition to the allocation of Remdesivir for clinical trials, accounted for 100 per cent (94,200 treatment courses) of August production by Gilead, 90 per cent of August production (174,900 treatment courses) and 90 per cent (232,800 treatment courses) of September production. Represents.
